Sub-Zero 4204490 & 7042798 Water Filter & Air Purification Cartridge Combo Pack

The Sub-Zero 4204490 Water Filter and 7042798 Air Purification Cartridge Combo Pack includes two replacement cartridges for compatible Sub-Zero refrigerators: one water filter and one air purification cartridge. This combination helps you maintain both the refrigerator's built-in water filtration system and its interior air purification system with the correct replacement parts.

The Sub-Zero 4204490 refrigerator water filter helps reduce chlorine and other specified contaminants while improving the taste and odor of filtered water. Designed for compatible Sub-Zero refrigeration systems, it features a twist-in cartridge design and is made for up to one year of use. Its related replacement part number is 9030868.

The included Sub-Zero 7042798 air purification cartridge works with refrigerators equipped with the built-in air purification system. This system helps manage ethylene gas and unwanted odors inside the refrigerator by treating the interior air approximately every 20 minutes. The 7042798 cartridge replaces the previous part number 7007067 and is designed for up to one year of use.

Both cartridges serve different purposes and are not interchangeable. The 4204490 filters water used for drinking and ice, while the 7042798 treats the air inside the refrigerator. Replacing them according to the manufacturer's maintenance instructions helps maintain the intended performance of both systems.

This Sub-Zero refrigerator filter combo pack is intended for compatible models in select Classic, Designer, and PRO series. Before ordering, check the part numbers on your existing cartridges and confirm that your refrigerator supports both the 4204490 water filter and the 7042798 air purification cartridge. Not every Sub-Zero refrigerator includes both systems, and the correct air cartridge can vary by appliance.

Special Features

Two Replacement Cartridges in One Combo Pack

This Sub-Zero water and air filter combo pack includes the 4204490 water filter and the 7042798 air purification cartridge. It provides the two specified replacement components in one purchase for refrigerators that use both parts. The pack contains different cartridges for separate filtration systems, so each must be installed in its designated compartment.

Sub-Zero 4204490 Water Filter for Better-Tasting Water

The 4204490 refrigerator water filter helps reduce chlorine and unwanted tastes and odors in filtered water. The manufacturer also publishes performance information for selected contaminant reduction claims. Refer to the official performance data for the exact substances covered by this filter rather than assuming it removes every possible contaminant.

The 4204490 uses a twist-in design and is interchangeable with part number 9030868. Check the existing cartridge and refrigerator specifications to confirm that this is the correct water filter for your appliance.

Sub-Zero 7042798 Air Purification Cartridge

The 7042798 cartridge works with the refrigerator's built-in air purification system to help manage ethylene gas and unwanted odors. The system treats the interior air approximately every 20 minutes, according to Sub-Zero. This cartridge is intended for compatible refrigerators that were manufactured with the air purification system.

Replaces Previous Air Cartridge Number 7007067

The Sub-Zero 7042798 is the direct replacement for the older 7007067 air purification cartridge. If your existing cartridge or appliance documentation lists 7007067, use the manufacturer's compatibility information to confirm that the 7042798 is the correct replacement.

The water filter and air cartridge have different part numbers and functions. Make sure your refrigerator requires the 7042798 air cartridge rather than relying on the water filter number alone.

Designed for Up to One Year of Use

Both cartridges are designed for up to one year of use. Actual replacement timing depends on the appliance's maintenance requirements and usage conditions. Follow the water filter and air purification indicators, where available, and the instructions in your refrigerator's use and care guide.

Replacing each cartridge when required helps maintain the intended performance of the corresponding filtration system.

Convenient Refrigerator Maintenance

Purchasing the two replacement cartridges together can help simplify routine maintenance when your refrigerator uses both parts. Before installation, confirm that each cartridge matches the existing filter number and follow the manufacturer's instructions for replacement, flushing the water system, and resetting the relevant indicators.

Compatibility

The Sub-Zero 4204490 water filter and 7042798 air purification cartridge combo pack is intended for compatible refrigerators that use both cartridge types.

Water Filter 4204490:

• Classic Series: Select BI and CL models
• Designer Series: Select IT, IC, DEC, and DET models
• PRO Series: 648PRO, PRO3650, and PRO4850 models
• Related replacement number: 9030868

Air Purification Cartridge 7042798:

• Classic Series: Select BI and CL models
• Designer Series: Select IC, IT, DEC, DET, ID-30RP, and ID-36RP models
• PRO Series: PRO3650 and PRO4850 models
• Previous part number: 7007067

These series and model references do not guarantee that every refrigerator uses both cartridges. Certain models may have a different water filter, and some refrigerators do not include an air purification system. Designer drawer models ID-30R and ID-36R, for example, do not have the air purification system, while ID-30RP and ID-36RP do.

Before purchasing the combo pack, check your refrigerator's model and serial number and verify the numbers on both existing cartridges. This is particularly important if you are replacing filters in an older Sub-Zero refrigerator.

Contaminant Reduction and Air Purification

Water Filtration

The Sub-Zero 4204490 water filter helps reduce chlorine and improve the taste and odor of filtered water. The manufacturer provides separate performance data for this cartridge, including claims for specified contaminants. Consult that data for the exact reduction claims and applicable test conditions.

The water filter does not remove every possible contaminant, and its performance depends on the conditions described in the manufacturer's documentation.

Air Purification

The Sub-Zero 7042798 air purification cartridge works with the refrigerator's built-in system to help manage ethylene gas and unwanted odors. Ethylene is naturally released by many fresh foods and can contribute to ripening and spoilage. The air purification system is designed to help manage this gas inside compatible refrigerators.

The water filter and air purification cartridge address different needs. The 4204490 filters water, while the 7042798 treats the refrigerator's interior air.
